Recently went to Cinema Nova in Bruxells. Been waiting to see this place for ten years. Im preparing for an exhibition at the Backside Space in the motorcycle showroom. The space is a blackened room with no light. Heres one of two Rank Aldis 16mm portable projectors I have just acquired. Aldis Brothers were based at Hall Green In Birmingham. The Rank Organisation bought them up in the mid 1960’s. This machine is very nicely engineered and constructed which has inspired a film/sculpture work. Need to ascertain if they were made in Germany. http://www.birmingham.gov.uk/historyofhallgreen
